If so, the first thing to ask yourself is, “Does my website accomplish what I intended?” If your answer is no, a website redesign is probably just what you need to get back on track with your digital marketing goals. In this article, you will find some key questions to keep in mind when making the decision to redesign your website. ## Is your website user friendly? User experience, or UX, is one of the most crucial aspects of your site. It is how they feel while using your site and what sticks with them after they’ve left. Did they find what they were looking for? Will it entice them to come back? Was it easy to navigate? Did it leave a good impression? For a positive user experience, you want the answers to all of those questions to be a hard yes! For some users the first time they come to your site could be their first interaction with your brand and you want them to get an idea of who you are. It is up to you and your website to make a positive first impression. ## Is your website mobile friendly? With [67% of _all_ web traffic coming from mobile devices](https://www.broadbandsearch.net/blog/mobile-desktop-internet-usage-statistics), it is imperative that your site be mobile friendly. If your site offers two separate experiences between desktop and mobile, you may have a problem on your hands. It isn’t enough anymore for your site to be delightful and engaging on desktop alone. [Mobile first web design](https://www.glidedesign.com/services/design/) isn’t just a trend, it factors into search ranking and could prevent some visitors from becoming potential clients. ## How does your website stack up against the competition? Everyone has competitors but your site can set you apart – in fact it should set you apart. Think about the factors that make you different… are you utilizing these unique selling points on your site? If not, you should be. Featuring your brand’s USP (unique selling proposition) is a simple way to set yourself apart from the crowd. Now take some time to see what your competitors have in common. If they are all doing something that you are not, it could be an opportunity for you to make some improvements. For example, if they are all using a resources page, do some research, make a plan and then capitalize on the insights gained by creating an even more resourceful resource page! ## Is information easy for users to find? Site structure needs to be simple but efficient. A first time user should be able to navigate your site just as easy as a frequent user. The navigation on your site has one main job… to make information easy to find! You usually have about 15 seconds to get a user’s attention or serve them what they are looking for before they hit the page back button. Highlight your most important/popular pages in your primary navigation and leave the pages that contain deeper information (for users a little further along in the customer journey) in the secondary navigation. The key here is distinguishing what should be in your primary and what should be in your secondary. When redesigning your website it is a great idea to evaluate each page thoroughly.
