If you’re going to do something, do it first AND do it best. Champion Fiberglass has been a pioneer in fiberglass conduits for decades—setting an industry standard—and yet, they’ve never stopped improving their products. When GLIDE was selected to overhaul their website, we saw an opportunity to make sure their digital presence felt just as cutting edge as their core business.
We go into every project looking to identify visual assets that are unique to a company’s brand. In the case of Champion, how about a 3D-rendered conduit laying superhero named ‘Champ’? That’s right! Let the hero bring us into the experience and accentuate action in the footer. Now moving on to information architecture.
When you’ve been doing something as long as Champion, you produce A LOT of detailed product information and marketing collateral. For the website to be an effective hub, these brochures and calculators and install videos all need to be organized and accessible. In addition to a category-based resource hub, we created shortcuts to the most frequently referenced items right in the primary navigation. How handy.
A website can be your best salesperson (aside from Champ) as long as you create a clear journey from intro to lead gen. In this case, the website is responsible for getting visitors in touch with a Champion rep, and letting them take it from there. Thus, we streamlined the ‘Find a Rep’ flow to the point where users have to make only two quick decisions. Application (toggle) and Location (drop-down). Done. Friction eliminated.
