What We Did
When your network reaches six figures in membership, you are an undeniable force in your space. Products That Count (PTC for short) is THE professional network of value for 300,000+ Product Managers and Product Leaders. Our initial engagement was focused on redesigning their marketing website, but has since extended into boosting member engagement post sign-up as well.
One of our biggest user challenges was getting people to fully fill out their member profiles. To address this, we’re experimenting with several solutions. 1.) Simplify input fields, giving users pre-selected options to choose from instead of freeform answers. 2.) Add a completion percentage indicator to user profiles. 3.) Engage new users in a quiz flow format that breaks profile completion into bite-sized chunks. Early returns are good!
On the flip side, we’re not afraid to abandon ideas and experiments that prove ineffective. Early prototypes of our member experience caused confusion when moving between the resources on the main site and the member experience portion of the site. Because this is one of the primary functions of the site, we decided to make the member experience more similar to the rest of the site to keep content from feeling overly siloed.
