What We Did
Conceptually, some projects are harder to visualize than others. For example, what do you picture when you think of IT solutions? With that in mind, we started brainstorming ideas for Crestone Solutions, a leader in the IT and online security space. Eventually, the answer became clear: show the horizon.
The opening image consists of several layers with subtle animations. First, there’s a background color and power line graphic, over which mountains come into view. Then, clouds float peacefully by, through a vertical grid overlay signaling security. After that, there’s a hover effect where their service offerings appear over the image. It sounds like a lot but everything happens in seconds and the effect is evokes tranquility over unrest.
Functionally, the goals of the site were to give people a clear sense of what they do, check, and then later, drive people to get in touch. We optimized for conversion by keeping pages short and ending each one with a strong call-to-action.
What we learned
Furthermore, the content is organized to appeal to two audience paths. One, you know the type of Solution you want and you select it from their offerings. Two, you identify the Market you’re in and select by that criteria. This delineation is clear in the primary navigation and the body of the homepage.
Looking back, we’re pleased with the way we were able to take something abstract and articulate it in a way that make sense for the web and is compelling to use.
