Who doesn’t love a good deal—online or otherwise? Well, somebody has to provide the stream of data to power those deal sites and apps … and that somebody is our client FMTC. They have the largest, freshest database of deals for affiliates to leverage. Where we come in is designing and building a new WordPress site that’s easy to maintain—with a clean, modern look. Let’s look at our approach…
Illustrations are in
One way to avoid being on the stock imagery bandwagon is finding a fresh illustration pack that compliments your brand identity. For FMTC, we took premium illustrations and made them our own. The wonderful thing about vector graphics—over photos—is you customize them to match your color scheme and content. The end result is a visual system that feels cohesive and consistent from page to page.
One could argue that the single most impactful element on a website is the primary call-to-action button. In this case, ‘Get Started’. On top of that, one surefire way to increase conversion is to make that button standout in a warm, high-contrast color. Let’s say tangerine. I know this is all very Design-101 but the thing is, lots of sites use so many colors that the action color loses its POP. In our case, we’re purposely limiting the palette to a couple different blues in order to maximize the power of the ORANGE.
A website is a story and the story we wanted to tell here had two paths. Right from the first block on the homepage, we offer ‘Affiliates’ and ‘Merchants’ the option to choose their own destiny. We also signal this divergence with a light mode and dark mode (in blue) depending on which route you take. This subtle cue tells the visitor they’re still in the right place.
