What We Did
Odds are, If you’re a savvy online shopper, you’ve hunted for coupon codes online … and odds are, you’ve ended up on RetailMeNot’s website. We were hired to redesign their blog, called The Real Deal, which drives organic traffic to the coupon site and creates affiliate revenue of its own.
Post Launch Results
With over 60% of their traffic coming from mobile devices (and growing), we knew the designs had to prioritize this audience. When you visit the site on a mobile phone, you see a quick nav bar at the bottom of the screen, allowing you to jump to the content you want. Furthermore, the main list view changes from post blocks on desktop to more concise post strips for scanability on your phone.
What we learned
The lifeblood of every blog is page views. Quality of content goes a long way, but there are lots of little things you can do to keep visitors clicking. In our design, we lead the page with playful category icons to help you select topics of interest. Then, once you’re on an article detail page, you’re presented with other popular content and related articles. Every page offers ample opportunity to flow serendipitously into another.
