The Land Institute

Built to inspire action and grow a global movement

Overview

Background

The Land Institute (TLI) is a nonprofit at the forefront of transforming agriculture through perennial grain research, ecosystem restoration, and global movement-building.

Problem

Their existing website didn’t reflect the importance or innovation of their work. The design felt outdated, navigation was confusing, and key audiences like donors, scientists, and advocates weren’t finding what they needed.

Solution

We helped bring TLI’s refreshed brand to life online, building a new website that’s faster, clearer, and easier to navigate. We used the new visual identity from their brand partner as a starting point, then designed a digital experience that tells their story, highlights their research, and makes it easy for users to take action.

Designing for impact and action

The biggest challenge was helping TLI speak to multiple audiences without overwhelming them. We created clear user journeys and simplified the site structure so visitors could find what they needed without friction. An interactive impact map, refreshed visuals, and modular content blocks helped bring the story to life while making the site easy to manage for their team.

The GLIDE team went out of their way to engage and understand deeply our organization. They were game to match our passion and energy for creating a thoughtful and compelling strategy and website that fit our unique need to invite our audiences in to experience complex information and stories in accessible, frictionless ways.

Every design decision was made to help TLI grow its reach and impact. Whether visitors want to donate, explore the science, or join the movement, the new site makes it easier to take the next step. The platform is flexible, accessible, and built to help The Land Institute share their vision with the world.
